Sleep Like A Baby Bath Spa Formula

April 22nd, 2008

Purpose: When you are tired or over stimulated, here’s a simple way to relax and send yourself off to a restful sleep. It’s wonderful either in the bath or in bed.

4 Chamomile Tea Bags

Candle

1 Quart of water

Pan large enough for the Water

Directions: Start by steeping 2 chamomile bags in a quarts of water for 15 minutes.

While it’s steeping, cover your head with a towel and position your head over the pot and inhale the healing aroma of the chamomile steam.

Then pour the liquid into your bath.

Next, using the other 2 bags, make yourself a cup of tea to sip while in your bath, steep it lightly and save the tea bags.

Put on some relaxing music, light your candle, immerse yourself in the tub, and close your eyes and put the teabags over them.

Now imagine yourself stretched out on a comfortable cushion and drifting off to sea, the sun is gently warming your body. Imagine the rolling sounds of the waves as you let yourself drift…drift…drift…

A simple thing you can do in the tub is to focus on inhaling and exhaling, and at the same time concentrate on your big toe. The big toe is a reflex point in your body for your head and exits through the feet. This is a good way of releasing all your mental stress and calming your mind.

Exercise for that Feeling of Wellness

March 30th, 2008

Physical exercise plays an essential role in promoting health and in preventing chronic illness. Exercise can be a way for many of use to reduce stress, relax and feel better. A bad mood can simply disappear with 30 minutes of weight lifting exercise, brisk walking, bicycling or swimming.Exercise may be good for our minds as well as our bodies. Perplexed by a problem? The way to a solution may be by going for a walk and letting your mind find the solution. Here’s more food for thought - the effect of exercising on our brains is even more pronounced if we exercise to music. Just exercising regularly for one month can lower blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic values, by about 10 points. Exercise can also help with weight control and in improving cholesterol and blood glucose levels.

Exercise has been shown to reduce the risks of:   Colon cancer, Adult-onset diabetes, High blood pressure, High cholesterol, Strokes, Obesity, Heart disease, Osteoporosis, Breast cancer and Depression.

Any amount of physical activity is better than none. Ideally, aim for 30 minutes of any type of exercise on most days and that feeling of wellness will be yours.
